Rachel Getting Married

Sick-making moving camera, long discursive takes in which you're not sure what the point is . . . yeah, it's certainly an homage to the *other* 70s cinema, of Cassavetes & Altman (which is kind of funny coming from Jonathan Demme, who more closely aligned himself with the kiss-kiss-bang-bang camp the first time around). I wish there hadn't been quite so much emotional business in the 2nd half; if you're going to make an elliptical movie in which stuff just happens, don't pack so much "acting!" into the 3rd & 4th acts. But when it just relaxes & lets shit happen (particularly the wedding & reception), it's great.
